Arun is a recent addition to the Bay Area music scene. Arun took up drumming in his college years at BITS Pilani, playing rock covers and hindi numbers for most of his 4 years in college. Largely self-taught, he belongs to the old school of drumming, and prefers to play everything he can in a live setting. His influences are mostly from rock, following drummers like Neil Peart, Ian Paice and Alex Van Halen. He is also an ardent fan of Ilaiyaraja in his prime, and loves playing music from that era.
Arun has lived in Seattle for six years and was the drummer for the Seattle based tamil music outfit, 'Geetanjali' for a couple of years, and since moving to the bay area, has performed twice for 'Thillana'. He is also the drummer for the Seattle based rock band, 'The East India Company'. His latest challenge in drumming is mastering the modern electronic drumming paradigm.
