Jerry Barr has been studying tabla with Ustad Zakir Hussain since 1995, and playing drums in general since he was a small child. Before committing himself exclusively to tabla, he performed jazz and rock drumset, African, and Afro-Cuban percussion. He performs tabla in various styles all over the Bay Area, from Hindustani Classical music, to Carnatic Bhajans, to light music.
